Assignment: Many, many moons ago, you wrote a paper that explored a question that 'Google' could not answer. Now, that was five months ago, four major works of literature ago, many (many) papers ago, and many classroom discussions ago. You have developed both as a writer and a thinker and I'm excited to offer you this same question again. This time, I'm looking for you to address a topic that reflects your literature experiences in this class, the characters you have met, and the philosophical questions about life, existence, death, and war. Narrow all of your ideas down to one specific thesis of your choice and once again, now what question-that google cannot answer-do you believe is interesting enough to earn you an A on this midterm?

How to get an A: Write a powerful, original, and thoughtful one page paper that demonstrates the highest level of your writing skills. I'm looking for enthusiasm, well supported analysis, and absolutely perfect punctuation. Oh, and do not forget a really great title and an even better closing line. Ok, that's all I can tell you.
